Woman’s body found floating at King’s Wharf

THE body of a woman was found floating at King’s Wharf, San Fernando, yesterday morning.

Dhanraji Ramsaran, 49, a mother of four, was found a short distance away from where she lived in the Squatter’s Settlement on King’s Wharf. Police said they do not suspect foul play in the death since there were no marks of violence on the body. Police reports indicate that around 7.15 am, a passerby discovered the body floating in the sea.

The eldest son of the deceased, Winston Richards said he last saw Ramsaran around 3 am at their home. District Medical Officer Dr Low Chee Tung visited the scene and ordered the body removed to the San Fernando Mortuary. An autopsy is expected to be performed today. PC Ramjitsingh of the Marabella Police Station is continuing investigations.
