Jabloteh face Chicago Fire in Champions Cup

TRINIDAD and Tobago club champions CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh will meet Chicago Fire of the Major League Soccer in the first leg of this year’s CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-finals here on March 17.

The return leg is fixed for March 24 in the United States. Draw for the series was made by CONCACAF president Jack Warner along with secretary Chuck Blazer at their New York offices on January 14. Jabloteh who won their second T&T Pro League title earlier this year, will be making their debut in the series. According to the draw, defending champions CF  Pachuca (Mexico) will take on Deportivo Saprissa (Costa Rica) in San Jose in their first-leg game also on March 17.

Completing the schedule, CF Monterry (Mexico) are at home to CD FAS (El Salvador) first, and LD Alajuelense (Costa Rica) face San Juse Earthquakes (USA). Semi-finals of the series will take place on April 14 with the second leg on April 21, with the winners of the Deportivo Saprissa vs CF Pachuca match taking on winners of the Jabloteh/Chicago Fire clash. Either Monterry or FAS meet Alajuelense or San Jose Earthquakes. The final is scheduled for May 4 and May 11.
