‘Choice’ for Band Of The Year

Dealer’s Choice looked well in her coat on the exercise course yesterday. And the manner in which she worked must have given connections hope of lifting the top prize in Band Of The Year sprint on the Arima Race Club’s Friday Lime card at Santa Rosa Park, Arima tomorrow. 

The daughter of Kdanzc/Real Windy has been knocking on the door since opening her account first time asking yesterday and showed she has not lost the blinding speed shown in her juvenile campaign with a comfortable 37.38 seconds posting over 600 metres. The Garnesh Lal inmate paced the backstretch and after opening up approaching the 600-metres marker, laid out nicely without being asked a question in the spin.

She was given a “good” in the remarks column of the Arima Race Club official clocker’s report. Sunday Jewel, who will also tackle the same event recorded 36.34 for the identical trip but was not as fluent as the St Ann’s Stakes runner-up nor  stablemate Melanie My Love, who with regained confidence covered the distance in 37.97.

Bon Voyage, who also hails from the barn famous for its green and white colours also looked in good niche. The six-year-old shaped well for his step-up to the allowance ranks  in the Dimanche Gras highlight with a pleasant 37.40 seconds. Following are the recorded gallops:
