ABDUCTED GRANDE MAN RESCUED

A 45-year-old Sangre Grande man who was abducted on Wednesday night, was rescued yesterday morning by officers of the Anti Kidnapping Squad. Reports state that Sean Keane of Bonsai Avenue, Foster Road, Sangre Grande, had just arrived at his home with his girlfriend when the incident took place.

At 11:45pm three armed men approached the couple, and robbed Keane’s girlfriend of $300. The gunmen then took Keane and bundled him into his car and drove off with the Sangre Grande man. However Keane’s abductors crashed the vehicle a short distance away and escaped as they jumped into their getaway car. A report was made to the Sangre Grande police and to the Anti Kidnapping Squad.

Acting on a tip off, officers attached to the Anti Kidnapping Squad launched a search in the Cumutto area, where they found Keane tied up in an abandoned house near the cold storage area. Two armed suspects escaped when the officers came upon the house. The officers of the Anti Kidnapping Squad utilised the services of the National Helicopter services and searched the area for the two suspects. Up to presstime, no one was held for Keane’s abduction. Investigations are continuing.
