Arima taxi driver murdered

An Arima taxi driver died on arrival at the Arima District hospital after he was stabbed and his throat slit while working his normal route yesterday morning. According to reports, at around 2.30 am a taxi driver on the 3 3/4 mile mark at Blanchisseuse Road, Arima observed the taxi of his friend his friend John Hollio, 53, parked in a strange manner. The police were contacted and on responding found blood stains all over the car. On closer inspection they heard groaning and found Hollio’s bloodied body with multiple stab wounds and a slit throat lying in a gully down a fifty foot cliff.

He was rushed to the hospital where he died on arrival. Hollio, a father of four of San Pedro Road,Valencia who works the Arima/San Pedro/Wallerfield stretch was last seen picking up three male passengers earlier who asked to be taken to Wallerfield. Police sources confirmed that Hollil was robbed several times but never injured. This time nothing was taken. Cpl Jones is leading the investigation.
