Only minor incidents in Tobago mas, say police

THERE WAS one minor incident during Jouvert celebrations in Scarborough, Tobago, yesterday, in which a young Trinidadian suffered a wound to his head after he was struck with a bottle.

Marlon Sharpe, who is living at Patience Hill, reported to police that someone threw a bottle which struck him on his head. The incident reportedly occurred in the Market Square area. Police said the wound was a “small cut” and Sharpe has since gone home. Up to mid-afternoon Police told Newsday that apart from a few minor fights, there had been no major violence marring the Carnival festivities in Tobago yesterday.
