South teen stabbed over woman, 30
A TEENAGER fighting over a 30-year-old woman was stabbed in his head by a 43-year-old man in Princes Town, police said yesterday.
Ellison Garraway, 18, of San Fabien Road, Gasparillo, underwent emergency surgery at the San Fernando General Hospital last night as doctors tried to save his life. Police have since arrested Garraway’s attacker, a 43-year-old man of Princes Town, and charged him with wounding with intent to murder. On Monday at around 4.30 pm, Garraway was talking to his female friend, then clothed in her Carnival costume, when the 43-year-old man approached them at Nipdec Car park at High Street.
A heated argument erupted, and the 43-year-old man broke a bottle on the sidewalk, and stabbed the teenager on his head. Garraway was rushed to the Princes Town Medical Facility, then transferred for surgery to the San Fernando General Hospital. Investigators told Newsday that Monday’s incident was fuelled by a previous altercation last week over the 30-year-old woman. Garraway’s attacker was taken into police custody and is expected to be brought before a Princes Town magistrate today. Garraway is currently warded in stable condition and investigations are continuing.
