Beware of this taxi-driver

THE EDITOR: Please permit me a space in your newspaper to warn my fellow people of Fyzabad. There is a particular taxi-driver that people should avoid travelling with. He drives a white B12, 13 or 14. I travelled with this gentleman for the first time two weeks ago. Before I got into the car I told him that I was getting off at the bottom of High Street to which he replied “okay.” When we arrived in San Fernando, he turned right at the SFGH (those of you who live in South, know exactly where I’m talking about). Immediately I reminded him that I was going in the other direction. He told me that he changed his mind because there might be traffic on High Street, and dropped me off elsewhere. Oh, I was on crutches. What I was upset about the most was that I had already paid him.

Yesterday, I stopped the same taxi and only realised this when we were in Avocat. He stopped for gas during rush hour. To top that off he knew one of the workers and they began to talk, even when his tank was filled. To everyone’s disgust, he didn’t even look bothered. The man in the front seat got angry and told him about it. To our surprise the driver told us if we didn’t like it we could get out. Trust me, after that time, I made sure I got his number and remembered the colour of the car so that a third mistake would not be made. After talking to my family and friends about the matter, I was told that they also had several incidents with the same man. Please, if you have no choice, wait until you reach your exact destination before paying taxi drivers or take a maxi to drop the same place and pay less.
