Kantasingh leads ‘Pres’ to schools title
Former West Indies Under-15 spinner Kavesh Kantasingh with six wickets for 43 runs, led Presentation College to first innings points over Princes Town Senior and the South/Central PowerGen cricket title in Chaguanas last Friday. Princes Town made 115 as the left-handed Kantasingh ripped through their batting order. Presentation then replied with 216 for six declared thanks to Dillon Rampersad’s 69. Batting a second time Princes Town reached 45 for two as the match petered out into a draw. “Pres” finished their seven-round preliminary campaign with 129 points to repeat as South/Central champions.Meanwhile, Tranquillity Secondary also retained their North/East title although they finished on equal points with Hillview College. The two battled in the final round and although Hillview took first innings, Tranquil were able to hold on to their title. Both teams ended with 73 points but Tranquil were adjudged winners by the Sonberg System.
