Police advance in Retro n-ball

POLICE led all the way to douse Fire out of the Retro Division knockout series in the All Sectors Netball League. The policewomen led 9-8 at the end of the first quarter of Monday’s match at the Eastern Regional Indoor Arena, Tacarigua, and increased their lead to two goals 18-16 at the half-time interval. With Beverly Rodgers scoring 26 of her 31 attempts and Lynette Duncan seven of 13, Police were ahead by six at the three-quarter stanza 26-20. But the Firewomen, with accurate shooting from Debra Alie who got 16 goals from her 17 attempts, Cheryl Francis who sank 12 of 17 and Patricia McDonald who had two of three, made a grand final quarter rally which fell short.


TSTT eliminated Avengers 34-26 in their match which they led throughout. Olive Le Platte scored 26 of 31 attempts and Wendy Sinnette had eight of 13 for the “Hello Girls.” Donna Thomas scored 15 of 20 and Maryon Mitchell made 11 of 19 for Avengers. In the only Alternative Y Division match, Central Bank whipped  Holiday Snacks 35-27, after leading 10-4, 16-13, 25-20 at the intervals. Kathy James had 30 goals from 45 attempts, Camille Aubin scored four of five and Kasma Benito made one of three for the “Bank Girls.” Helen Curden notched 23 goals from 41 attempts and Marcia Daniel scored four of 13 for Holiday Snacks.
