Honoree and Lover Lover sound warnings

LOVELY HONOREE and Miss Lover Lover closed off their preparations  for engagements on tomorrow’s Arima Race Club Day Seven programme with some degree of authority. The four-year-old filly, who is pencilled in for the Starter Allowance 1200 metres sprint, chipped a full  round of the main course yesterday, before her partner, apprentice Christopher Jadoo got over her approaching the final bend. And the Harold Chadee-trained American-bred filly opened up over the last 400 metres to post in a healthy looking 23.85 seconds on the clock. She continued at a good clip after passing the winning line before being eased in the backstretch.

Miss Lover Lover never fails to give a good performance either at gallops or in her races. The Edmund De Freitas-trained filly, fourth in the Barbados Champagne Stakes Trophy Handicap in her first attempt at 1600 metres on the turf had another impressive workout on Wednesday. This four-year-old daughter of Friendly Lover/Winning Spurs who will be eyeing tomorrow’s Allowance purse showed off her good sprinting qualities, covering the last 1000 metres of the main course in 1:00.82 seconds with raceday rider Gary Laban aboard. Beautiful Mind which has joined trainer Maniram “Boboy” Maharaj’s barn through the claiming system also showed his well-being on the same morning. The bay four-year-old who has had some niggling problems early in the season showed he is coming back to his best with a 35.95 clocking for a  solo spin over 600 metres. Raise A Creek, Maid Of Honour, Le Fabuleux Dansur and Smooth Operator were among others to have enjoyed their gallops yesterday, while Salsa Moves, Game High, Speak The Truth, Tea Time Doc, Lovetillidie, and Yashoda were the eyecatchers on Wednesday.
