‘Noise’ killing the legacy

THE EDITOR: Recently I had a conversation with someone who had bought a “pirated” CD. When I enquired why, I was told that it was a compiled version of several pieces of music from different artistes.
I maintain that in the scenario that we have come to most of these (sorry all) calypso/soca singers are singing “crap.” The music is just noise, so why buy a CD for $100 that only has one piece of music worth listening to when you can buy one pirated CD for $100 and get all of the popular noise on one CD. TUCO and COTT say “Piracy killing the legacy” but I say the “noise” that is being produced as music is “killing the legacy.”
