South name their top sports persons

THE Southern equivalent of the WITCO Sports Foundation Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year is set for Friday at the Gulf City Auditorium. But sporting organisations in the Southland have until today to send in their nominees for the Gulf City Southern Sports and Culture Personality Awards 2003.

According to secretary Mahalia Jackson, nominees should be resident of South Trinidad between Cedar Hill Road, Claxton Bay (North), Guayaguayare (East), Icacos (South) and The Gulf (West). And they should have performed with commendable excellence, having a sense of discipline, good sportsmanship and be a worthy exemplar to youths. Categories this year are Overall (male and female); Top 10 nominees; “Team of the Year” and “Coach of the Year”.
