Stoute hits unbeaten 94 for Merryboys
Kevin Stoute struck an unbeaten 94 to lead Ceramic Merryboys to 243 for five wickets off 30 overs against Aranguez in their second round Carib Shield cricket match at the Diego Martin Recreation Ground yesterday. Stoute got his runs from 78 balls and was ably assisted by Lincoln Roberts who got 71 from 55 balls and Aneil Kanhai who bludgeoned 41 from a mere 20 balls. At the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago players Dwayne Bravo (82) and Imran Jan (53) took the Parkites to 208 for four against Moosai’s Sports. Queen’s Park are now in a very good position to force a win today and qualify for the second round.
The top battle between Tile It Central Sports and Alescon Comet is again priming for an exciting finish. Batting first Comet were restricted to155 for nine off their 30 overs. Leading the way was Imran Khan with 37 and Suruj Ragoonath with 33. National spinner Devindra Krishna took four for 30 and Guyanese Lennox Cush claimed two for 26. All matches will conclude today. Play starts at 4 pm.
