Greene back to best in match sprint

ELISHA GREENE came back to his best form to whip Ako Kellar in the match sprint final as Phillips Promotions continued their cycling action at the Arima Municipal Stadium Velodrome. And Greene completed a double by outpedalling Ray Phillips in the three-lap event for Category 1 and 2 riders at Sunday’s cycling fiesta. But Kellar stormed back to take the 40-lap event ahead of Shannon Metevier, with Greene managing third place.

Category Three cyclist Barry Luces also scored a double winning both the three-laps and five-laps with Colin Wilson following him home both times. Taysha Hamilton twice topped women riders, first winning the two-lap event from Temilia Baptiste and Racquel Jemmott, then the one-lap in which Jemmott was runner-up and junior rider Trevor Commissiong third. Commissiong took the one-lap event for Juniors with Hasseem McLean and Marc Codrington filling second and third. But Codrington romped home ahead of McLean and Jonathan Rawlins in the Devil-take-the-hindmost ride.
