Bovell III smashes world swim mark

TRINIDAD and Tobago merman George Bovell III last night broke the 20-year world 200 metres individual medley record at a swim meet in the United States. According to grandad George Bovell I, his grandson touched the wall in the event in a time of 1:43.09 seconds, to erase the previous mark of 1:44.06. And he did not end there, having led his Auburn College to better the 4x200 metres world relay swim mark.
Up to press time, Bovell III was in the pool again, this time swimming the 100 metres freestyle leg for Auburn in another relay event.
