Help guide the youth
THE EDITOR: I am writing this article for the purpose of calling the parents and all leaders of this nation to instill into our youth the importance of principle-centered living. We live in a complex world where it is very easy to become confused and lose all sense of direction. We need to teach the youth of this nation to have good values such as courage, determination, passion, wisdom and understanding. If we can teach our youth these principles it will empower them to be successful and accomplish great things for this nation. I must add that these principles have to be applied on a consistent basis and that the road to success is not a smooth one.
There are bumps in the road. You have to deal with peer pressure, jealousy, prejudice, opposition and hatred from insecure and small-minded people who feel threatened by your vision. You need to possess the ability to dream big even in the midst of critics. I feel the need to mention the fact that we live in a nation where the crime situation is spiraling out of control, but we can start dealing with this problem by taking the time to train our young people in the way that they should go. There are no quick fixes to the crime situation, but we can improve the situation by taking little steps in the opposite direction than the one in which we are heading right now by living and teaching others to live a principle-centered life.
