Cash Wager and Bandinthong head Handicaps

CASH WAGER and Bandinthong were allotted topweights for the two feature races on the Arima Race Club Day 10 card at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday. The American-bred six-year-old horse Cash Wager, who snatched third spot behind Fortunate Flag and Miss Lover Lover on his seasonal appearance in an Allowance event on Saturday last, has been handed the welter burden of 58.5 kilos in the Handicap 1 and Lower event over 1200 metres on the main course, while Bandinthong was allotted 56.5 kilos  in the Restricted Handicap over 1100 metres on the Turf.

Both events were framed for West Indian bred three-year-olds and over winners and imported horses of the same age group. Cash Wager will have six rivals and will be conceding from 2.5 kilos to Invincibility to 14.5 kilos to stable companion Maid Of Honour. Fortunate Flag, winner of the turf spotlight event last Saturday makes a quick re-appearance in the event. This Kenneth De Silva Jnr trained four-year-old goes after a quick double with 52 kilos, getting 6.5 kilos from the topweight.

Also eyeing the event worth $32,000 are Fabulous Risk (50 kilos), Smooth Operator (49) and Man Of Class (48). Bandinthong will shoulder his responsibility on the inner (turf) circuit against seven opponents. In this dash, trainer Stephen Jardim’s course specialist will be handing out to kilos to Rhythm Divine, 2.5 kilos to Gaza Strip and 3.5 kilos to Lovely Honoree and Sure Wager. Opposing this with 50.5 kilos is Kaser’s Gold, Francesca with 47 kilos and Cyber Five on 46 kilos. Should the turf race be switched to the main course, the weights will remain the same.
