Life skills for youth

The Editor: I was pleasantly surprised that the Ministry of Education has finally seen it fit to introduce conversational Spanish at the primary level given our proximity to South/Central America but it begs the question . . . what about some conversation in general? I mean, seems like our youngsters could do with some inter-personal skills development, together with some much needed social and life skills development and since the families aren’t able to provide this foundation, shouldn’t the Ministry aim to fill this vacuum?
