Remarkable women in a man’s life

THE EDITOR: I would like to pay tribute to the women who have impacted positively in my life. Firstly, my mother, Anesta Sheppard, who by the grace of God brought me into this world and who as a mother has been there for me in some turbulent situations. My grandmother, Eulice Walker, who constantly protects me through her many prayer vigils and who taught me about God. Even though we  at times do not see eye to eye, she still has a place for me at her table. I pay tribute to my aunt Naomi, who lives in Toco, for her love, hospitality and always encouraging and providing for me when I visit. She asks nothing and gives all and I wish her all God’s blessing.

This is also for a woman who gets up at dawn most mornings to visit her garden to cultivate and care for it, a strong woman who reminds me of Ruth in the Bible. Althea Gill, who I believe might be well known as a woman of God. wife of a pastor and mother to many, including myself, counsellor, friend, comforter and  much more. A true woman of virtue and love, Christal Simmons, who in the short time I’ve known her has made an inpact on my life in a great way through her vision, her strength and her wisdom. Her encouragement to me is in seeing how she manages her family life, work schedule and spiritual life and only God knows how she does it. To Ms Gomez, a teacher at a well known private school, who always has time for me, lends a listening ear and is a blessed woman of God.

Ms Dianne Rocke, a woman of stature, a woman of God, who has also counselled me in certain situations. A single parent, strong willed and determined. Ms Tony, who I will never fail to mention and who incidently is the principal of a junior secondary school. I can say she was a great influence in my early school life. Jemma Chadband - I thank God for her as a great positive impact on the job who continues to play a role in my life. These are women whom God has placed in my life and with the qualities I look for my search for a virtuous  woman and life partner. They are great women of stature and virtue.
