Central Sports in Carib Shield semis
TILE IT Central Sports led by an inspired spell of bowling by national pacer Rayad Emrit (4/28), defeated Queen’s Park in the quarter-finals of the Carib Shield Cricket series at Presentation College ground yesterday. Emrit ripped through the Parkites batting, taking four wickets for 28 runs to put his team in the semi-finals. Replying to Central Sports innings of 175/6, Queen’s Park were routed for 140 runs, with Earnil Ryan getting 46 and Keiron Pollard 32. At Diego Martin, Chris Magram played a career innings of 129 off 85 balls to lead Alescon Comets to a six-wicket win over Ceramic Trinidad Merryboys.
The Patna Boys totalled 217 for eight wickets in their 30 overs on Wednesday, but Magram with 16 fours and five sixes made light work of the home bowlers to send Merryboys tumbling out of the series. Magram and Imran Khan with 49 runs from 35 balls, shared an opening partnership of 128 in only 12 overs to lay the foundation for victory.
