Junior Golf Opens at Moka
GOLFERS aspiring to selection on the national team for the Caribbean Junior Golf Cham-pionships will have the perfect opportunity to address the selectors at the Republic Bank-sponsored Trinidad and Tobago Junior Golf Open. The three-day tournament will tee off on Monday at the St Andrew’s Golf Course, Moka, Maraval, and will feature top national players as well as golfers from Barbados, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Cayman Islands and the Dominican Republic.
Among top local golfers in the field will be Tracey Clarke who is expected to be among major contenders for a spot on the national youth team. Republic Bank are official corporate sponsors of both the Junior Open and the Trinidad and Tobago youth team for the fourth successive year. The Bank was also involved with the recently-concluded Chaguaramas Golf Clinic and the “Strive for Excellence” Royal Canadian/Trinidad and Tobago Junior Golf Camp under University of Toronto director of athletics Henry Brunton.
