Plaudits for Manning and Hinds

THE EDITOR: I am advocating unequivocally that Member of Parliament Mr Fitzgerald Hinds, for Laventille East/Morvant, deserves to be appointed a Senior Cabinet Minister instead of an agreed offer of a Junior Ministerial position in the Ministry of National Security. I was surprised that Mr Hinds was not given the nod for the Ministerial job of Labour Minister, the fact that he possesses at least more than the criteria to become a Minister — “a level head and common sense” as attributed by the Honourable Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, hereunder are some of Mr Hinds academic qualifications: Attorney-at-Law; Criminology — Masters Degree; Policing Diploma.

Mr Hinds was also a junior Minister of Public Administration and served with distinction. Consequently, I was disappointed that Mr Hinds was not appointed the Minister. More so such a portfolio would have afforded him the profound opportunity to effectively service the impoverishment of several thousands unemployed people in his constituency. However, I wish to applaud the Honourable Prime Minister Patrick Manning for offering Mr Hinds a ministerial position. Congratulations! Mr Hinds in your impending elevation as a junior Minister of National Security.
