Concacaf Women’s Under-19 draw today

NEW YORK: The draw for the respective group pairings to the 2004 CONCACAF Under-19 Women’s Final Round Qualification will be held at the offices of the CONCACAF General Secretariat in New York City today. Hosts Canada have been placed in Group “A”, while the defending FIFA Under-19 World Champions, USA will compete in Group “B” at the CONCACAF event. The six remaining CONCACAF teams — Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago — will be drawn into either Group “A” or “B” at the Under-19 event that will run from May 28 to June 6 in Ottawa’s Frank Clair Stadium and Montreal’s McGill University Molson Stadium.
 
The eight-team tournament will qualify two CONCACAF nations to the 2004 FIFA Under-19 World Championship in Thailand from November 10-27.  This is the second time that CONCACAF have staged a qualifying event for the Under-19 World Championship, the previous one taking place in Trinidad and Tobago in 2002.
