Maracas rain goals in UWI football

MARACAS Royal Road strikers were in goalscoring mood at the UWI Employees Super Football League 2004, firing in six goals in their two matches. They were held to a high-scoring 3-3 draw by Athletico in their Saturday match. But the Maracas men whipped Cruz International 3-1 on Sunday. Junior Castillo, Aaron Mejias and Hayden Vincent found the net against Athletico, for whom Junior Emmanuel, Claude Raymond and Patrick Toussaint replied. And both Mejias and Vincent smashed in goals along with Kurt Danclair against Cruz International.  Garth Jacobs netted for the losers.

On Saturday, Cruz Internationals were winners over BM Spurs 2-1 with Sheldon Carimbocas and Arthur George the goalscorers.  Monty Carmona got the lone goal for the losing team. In women’s action, Tiacho Stingrays were again in dominant form, shutting out Cruz International 4-0 on goals by national striker Tasha St Louis who got a double, and Sedonna Agard and Tamara Charles.

Civilian Conservation Corps edged Memphis 3-2 in the other match with Leslie Ann James scoring two goals and sister Stacy Ann James getting the other.  Roxanne Toussaint got both for Memphis. And National Unity continued their winning form in the Over-40 Division with a 3-0 shut out of Ambassadors, with Emile Morris grabbing a double and Richard Cabralis the other.
