No, to third road tax
THE EDITOR: I wish to respond to letters by Kelvin C James Snr to the print media applauding the Government on its decision to implement a toll system to pay for highways. I strongly object to this since the Government already collects road taxes at the pumps whenever motorists purchase gas and six percent on premiums when we purchase/renew motor insurance policies.
I cannot understand the rationale for this proposed extra burden on motorists and I hope the parliamentary Opposition would oppose this measure when it is debated in the House of Representatives. We, the motorists of this country must mobilise ourselves to show objection to a third road tax and lobby all our parliamentarians to oppose it.
