Pro League kick off delayed

FANS hoping to see the start of the T&T Pro League today will have to wait another week before action in the 2004 season begins. First round matches will now kick off on April 18. This is due to a decision made by the league following meetings with newly-appointed CEO Dexter Skeene, president of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Referees Association (TTFRA) Krishendath Kuarsingh and secretary Boni Bishop.

According to Skeene, “I will be meeting with the Referees Association on Tuesday to agree on the way forward for the 2004 season.” Skeene, a former national midfielder/striker, added: “I have had frank and positive discussions to date with Mr Kuarsingh and Ms Bishop and, although the start of the league had to be pushed back, I am confident that the 2004 season will be a success.”
