Catch the criminals off guard
THE EDITOR: One newspaper headline read “Bad drivers and bandits beware!” and the contents told of the police intentions over the Easter weekend. The article warned police will be at the beach camps, at speed traps known to all and others that can be identified and public places intending to put an ease to crime and road fatalities.
This attitude is nothing new and it puts fear into nobody’s minds. This is the same approach to the pathetic failure of the master plan “Anaconda.” Information through the media first and just in case the criminal elements did not listen to or read the media, get the police to put on all sirens towards the surprise area.
This is the same approach being taken in the Laventille areas. It is as though those in authority are either blind, deaf, dotish or dumb or all together. Does anybody looks scared in Laventille? And you know this stupid approach is contagious. Even Brian Lara was using this approach against the English cricketers. Before yet another humiliating third test match he warned the Englishmen that he was now more than ready for them.
He had gone to the nets for long hours and was 100 percent fit and ready so beware! Ha! The Englishmen trembled so much on the field that the earth shook and West Indian wickets fell as the Poui flowers. Ha! The criminals trembling, the road hogs trembling and the Englishmen trembling, say the real cowards.
