Fans should protest for better umpiring

THE EDITOR: Please permit me to write this letter to vent my frustration on the dubious umpiring throughout this series of England vs West Indies. I strongly believe with my whole being that the lbw decisions must go completely or else get the instant replays back and fast. You see cricket is supposed to be a gentleman’s game, and there should be no bad decisions. The players can’t complain because they are being fined and the umpires are not. Is that fair? I think not. If you analyse it carefully the opposing team gets credit for a wicket that is not really out, that is unfair. So since the players can’t protest and the umpires’ decision stands, then we are not going anywhere in the game. Gentlemen, think about it. Let’s stop and do the right thing. It is time that we all protest until we get it right.
