Jabloteh dent Drillers 8-0

NATIONAL midfielder Otis Seaton netted four goals in the space of 30 minutes on Monday night as T&T Pro League champs CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh opened the 2004 season with an 8-0 trouncing of South West Drillers at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. Seaton, also known as Aurtis Whitley, got on the scoresheet in the second, 18th, 28th and 30th minutes, while national Under-23 striker Devon Mitchell scored in the 13th to give the two-time champs a 5-0 half-time cushion.

Trinidad and Tobago senior team striker Nigel “Croc” Pierre found the back of the net in the 74th minute, while Jabloteh and Trinidad and Tobago captain Angus Eve (86th) and Keyeno Thomas (89th) ended the rout for the San Juan lads. Also on Monday night, North East Stars earned a comfortable 3-0 triumph over the combined Arima/Morvant Fire outfit at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima. Veteran Trinidad and Tobago forward Jerren Nixon got a double in the 57th and 67th minutes, while St Vincent midfielder Kendall Velox added the other in the 79th. Three matches are scheduled from 5 pm today, with Drillers hosting W Connection at the Palo Seco Recreation Grounds, North Eeast Stars facing Starworld Strikers at the Larry Gomes Stadium and Defence Force opposing Arima/Morvant Fire at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.
