Connection jump into Pro League f/ball lead

DEFENCE FORCE and W Connection both recorded victories in second round action of the TT Pro League yesterday. At the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, the Army-Coast Guard combination whipped Arima/ Morvant Fire 3-0 with a double from new recruit Odelle Armstrong, in the 35th and 84th minutes, and Kevon Carter in the 39th. Connection jumped to the top of the eight-team standings after they registered their second straight win, a 2-0 triumph over South West Drillers at the Palo Seco Recreation Grounds.


In the day’s other matchup, North East Stars and Starworld Strikers battled to a 3-3 draw at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima. Goals by Jerren Nixon (7th) and Anthony Wolfe (21st) gave North East a 2-0 halftime lead before Starworld levelled the scoring with goals in the 48th and 64th minutes. Nixon restored North East’s advantage with a 74th minute item before the Starworld lads equalised two minutes later.
