P/Town, Prestige Auto SAC unbeaten in Super League

PRINCES TOWN Youths edged Economy Strikers 3-2 to maintain their 100 percent record in Group One of the First Division in the UWI Employees Super League. But Prestige Auto SAC won twice at the weekend to join them at the top of the standings. Terrence Jean, Miguel Latroy and Devon Gomes scored one goal each in Saturday’s victory for the Princes Town lads.  Sheldon Charles and Kerwyn Matthews scored for the losing team. Prestige Auto SAC slammed Standard Distributors 5-1 on Saturday on a double by Lionel Sterling and other goals by Jesse Defour, Nicholas Paul and Kenwin Bravo.

Kenwyn Zamore got the lone goal for the losers. But on Sunday, Prestige were made to struggle for a 1-0 win over Economy Strikers, with Defour getting the only goal of the match. Princes Town and Prestige are now locked tegether on 18 points each in First Division Group 2 after the first round, a clear ten points ahead of the next team. East West Coaching School and House of Dread share top billing in Group One with ten points each after four matches in the eight-team group. The Coaching School shut out Combine FC 2-0 on Saturday last. Heading Group “A” in the Premier League are Trincity Nationals who shut out Ocean View Samba Youths 2-0 on Saturday with goals from Joel Fraser and Joel Warrick. Runners-up are Maloney Two Touch who are three points back. And Group “B” is headed by Happi Foods Flippers with 15 points, three more than nearest rivals Honved.
