Lara is cricket’s Shakespeare
THE EDITOR: The phenomenal Brian Charles Lara in his thank you speech at Piarco, made reference to a quotation by Shakespeare which he said inspired him. The saying is as follows “There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood leads on to fortune; omitted all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries; and we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.” I believe that Brian is to cricket as Shakespeare is to literature.
