THE EDITOR: I dream a distant land far yet near
A land full of plenty a transformation it has seen
A future full of opportunities abundant, all can boast
A land once burdened with downtrodden, blossom forth emerge

A last Laventille, free and fair, all in wonder amaze
A Laventille in transition translucent then transparent pure and clean Now all is loved, and love that is all it gives from within.
Non can scoff nor scorn Laventille a new

All now sing praises to the hill born no more asunder
Its contribution it now makes with equity
No second class, no third class citizen of distant past
All of Laventille now rejoice a plenty and the Nation enjoined, to see a place so once dismal, now a glowing symbol to Nation Building
