Jabloteh youths show no mercy

CL FINANCIAL San Juan Jabloteh showed no mercy on North East Stars on Sunday, winning both their matches in Round Three of the T&T Pro League Under-14 and Under-16 Division in convincing fashion. In front of a sparse crowd at the Sangre Grande Recreation Grounds, Jabloteh won the Under-14 encounter by a 7-0 margin and prevailed 11-0 in the Under-16 contest. Franz Husbands netted a hat-trick for Jabloteh’s U-14 team while Adrian Bourne, Elton Douglas, Micah Lewis and Mikhel Williams adding one apiece for the San Juan lads, who have won both their encounters this season.

In the second match in the double-header, Lester Peltier led the way for Jabloteh with a beaver-trick, while Jonathan Romain notched a hat-trick, Shastri Spencer a pair and Sheldon Augustine one. Connection remained atop the Under-14 standings after a goalless draw away to Arima/Morvant Fire at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima. But the Fire youths earned a 2-1 win over the ‘Savonetta Boys’ in the Under-16 fixture, with goals from Marvin James and Keron Ross. Kemuel Rivers got the consolation item for Connection.  

After South West Drillers Under-14 team failed to show up for their match against Defence Force (hence defaulting the match), their Under-16s appeared at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo and held the Army-Coast Guard combination to a 2-2 draw. Sherron Joseph got both goals for Defence Force while Akil Collins and Brent De Leon found the target for Drillers. Fourth round matches will be held on Saturday from 8.30 am with Jabloteh opposing Fire at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Drillers meeting North East Stars at Mahaica Oval while Defence Force will travel south to the Manny Ramjohn Stadium to meet Starworld Strikers.
