Lawson plays against Bangladesh

BRIDGETOWN: Exactly a year to the day after being reported to the ICC for having an illegal action, fast bowler Jermaine Lawson has been picked to don the West Indies colours. The Jamaican fast bowler has been named to represent the WICB XI in two warm-up matches against Bangladesh later this month. The first is a one-day game in St Vincent on Wednesday and the other is a three-day match in Grenada from May 22-24. The manager and coach of the two teams will be announced at a later date.


Bangladesh arrives in the Caribbean today for two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals during their month-long tour. The series begins with the ODIs in St Vincent on May 15 and 16 and the third in Grenada on May 19. The Test matches will take place in St Lucia from May 28 to June 1 while the second and final will be played in Jamaica from June 4-8.
