Raise fines for dangerous drivers

THE EDITOR: Finally there is something being done about these nice motorists on the roadway with regards to the zebra crossings. The Ministry of Works and Transport raises the issue and put plans into action. Many a times I as a motorist stop at a zebra crossing to allow pedestrians, adults as well as children, the right of way to cross, they have to actually jolt back avoiding to be knocked down because some nice motorists especially taxis and maxis and I stress on the hired vehicles, overtake me and just zoom across the black  and white markings on the roadway as if it means “go fast runway ahead.”

I would like to advise Mr Frankliyn Khan if he can get to raise the fine from $200 to $1,000 first offence and double the fine second offence and thereafter, this should at least send a message to these nice motorists to be a bit more careful, or pay the cake and feel the pinch.
