Biased laws
THE EDITOR: The laws in TT need to be revamped in order to eliminate the discrepancies in how it deals with lawbreakers in this country, be it the average citizen or members of the police service.
How can the police service be exempt from drug trafficking charges while the average weed smoker can be incarcerated for a joint if arrested by the same police service? Either the officers implicated be charged and go through the legal process like everyone else or the average drug offender be allowed to keep his job, take a wage cut, job transfer or demotion with little else. As it stands, this current message only serves to promote lawlessness and indiscipline at all levels.
