La Foucade lads for coaching in Italy

The AC Milan Soccer Camp put on by La Foucade Coaching School was by all indications a success. Sponsors, Unit Trust Corporation were pleased to be associated with the camp and parents were full of praise for the instruction of all coaches and the visiting AC Milan coaches were impressed with their charges. At the camp’s official closing ceremony and distribution of prizes, head coach of La Foucade Coaching School, Dion La Foucade thanked the players and AC Milan youth programme coaches Massimo Pavanel and Lodovico Costacurta for the extra effort they put in during its course. La foucade said it was good to see hard work produce superb results.

Pavanel noted with great delight the high levels of respect, religion and education present in the youths he interacted with during the one-week camp which taught the essentials of the game and sought to better the techniques of the players ranging between the ages of six and 17. La Foucade was described as an individual who dedicated his life to affecting children and is succeeding in his quest both on and off the field. A satisfied parent stated that there are not enough members of society like the coach and that all who were privy to his instruction should aspire to such heights. In the end two young players, Kye West of Bishop Anstey Junior and Tarik La Roche of Briggs Private School, were selected by the coaches to travel to Italy, in the summer, to train in the AC Milan Youth Programme.

Both players were ecstatic with their selection and were eager to make the trip. West and La Roche both stated that their techniques had improved as a result of the direction they received in the camp. They felt that the trip will continue in their development as their selection was under the discretion of Pavanel and Costacurta according to their ability to fit into Milan’s programme. AC Milan are the reigning Serie A champions and boast the talents of mercurial Brazilian starlet Kaka, Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, World Cup winning Brazilian captain Marcos Cafu, and a pool of strikers which includes Filippo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko and Jon Dahl Thomasson.
