North East Stars aim for football clean sweep

Head Coach at North East Stars Football Club, Jimmy Mc Lean is setting his sights very high  in this year’s Trinidad and Tobago Professional Football League. The Sangre Grande based outfit is sitting three points clear at the top of the table and Mc Lean wants to make a clean sweep of all the available titles this year. “I will love to sweep the entire thing — the league title, the FCB Cup, the FA Cup and Caribbean Champions Cup,” McLean said.

According to Mc Lean he believes the investement made by the club is now paying off. He said  he is pleased to be leading the league and also have the topgoal scorer so far in veteran national striker Jeron Nixon. Mc Lean paid tribute to the community of Sangre Grande for North East Stars success calling them the 12th man on their team. North East Stars are just four years old as a club and this is the third year they are competing in the TT Pro-League. They made their first real impression last season when they ran third in the league competition behind Jabloteh and W Connection. They also recorded a famous victory over W Connection in the the FA Cup final. And according to coach Mc Lean, this season, the sky is the limit.
