Promote nurses now

THE EDITOR: Recent promotions in the Police and Defence Force have left all Ministry of Health acting nursing personnel holding their breath in keen anticipation of their appointments. Their legitimate expectations may soon materialise. Perhaps the senior Ministry of Health authorities have already made recommendations to the Public Service Commission? Probably it is in the mail?

Of course, they will readily accept their letters of confirmation in the presence of the media. After acting for years they can certainly wait until that public relations past is organised. Waiting to exhale . . .
