St Joseph’s close in on Rivas title

ST JOSEPH’S Convent (Port-of- Spain) are one game away from dethroning Morvant/Laventille Secondary as queens of the Francis Rivas Schoolgirls Windball Cricket League. The “Convent Girls” whipped the defending champions by seven wickets on Friday last, only 24 hours after St Jude’s also beat them. St Jude’s bowled out Morvant/Laventille for 48 runs with Tenelle Hughes topscoring on 13 and K Reyes 11. 

Nekeisha St John took four wickets for five runs. Replying, the St Jude’s girls romped to 49 for six wickets in only nine overs, with St John completing a fine allround performance with 11 runs.  A Forte took three for nine and Candice La Borde two for three. Confronted by St Joseph’s Convent next day, Morvant/Laventille totalled 61 in their 15 overs, led by La Borde’s 13 runs. And the “Convent Girls” reached 62 for three wickets in 11 overs led by Kadeisha Sylvester’s unbeten 14 and Shera Mungroo 13.
