Dwarika joins TT footballers in England

China-based midfielder Arnold Dwarika looks set to get his international career back on track since joining the professional ranks in Asia. Dwarika last played for Trinidad and Tobago two years ago in a Gold Cup encounter against Martinique but now is keen on wearing the national shirt again, particularly since Bertille St Clair is at the helm again. Less than an hour after arriving from a long from China, the former Joe Public star was at the training ground at the Lilleshall Training Centre in Shropshire, England.

He was joined by Birmingham City striker Stern John, Portsmouth goalkeeper Shaka Hislop and Scottish-based duo Marvin Andrews and Brent Sancho. The five overseas-based players arrived earlier and took part in a training session with Wrexham duo Dennis Lawrence and Carlos Edwards, as well as US-based striker Cornell Glen. The TT squad also shifted location to the nearby White House Hotel and tomorrow’s clash with Iraq at the West Brom Stadium. A crew from BBC radio visited the TT camp at Lilleshall yesterday, conducting interviews which were carried “live” on a local station while reporters from the News of the World newspaper also visited at the team hotel. St Clair was hoping to conduct a couple more sessions with his players before tomorrow’s match.
