Aerobic rehearsal at JP Complex
ORGANISERS of the Caribbean Aerobic Championships (CAC) 2004 will hold a keep fit session today starting at 4 pm at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex, Port-of-Spain. Chief CAC organiser Selwyn Melville said the keep fit session today is a dress rehearsal for the finals of the championships scheduled for next Sunday. He added that the session was organised to give competitors a chance to have a workout with the instructors who have been selected for the finals. This would be their only opportunity to acquaint themselves with the moves of the instructors leading up to the finals. Persons wishing to take part in the session must show up at the Jean Pierre Sports Complex with their registration forms and $30 fee.
Last year, Eleanor Patrick won the title beating Nicole Cain in a dramatic finish. The fittest person in the Caribbean will walk away with $10,000 and a challenge trophy. Fans will also judge for the People’s Choice winner, and there will be the crowning of an Under-18 champion. Apart from the cash incentives, the top 20 finishers will also receive medals. Main sponsors for the CAC are Newsday, Nestle Supligen and Fitness Breakfast Cereal, Toyota, Tampico Juices, Hylytes Isotonic Sports Drink, Crystal Clear Water and Unit Trust Corporation.
