Ames third in Colonial golf

TRINIDAD-BORN Stephen Ames had a final round 64 yesterday, to finish third in the PGA US$5.3 million Bank of America Colonial tournament at the Colonial Country Club, Forth Worth, Texas. For his big finish, Ames now a Canadian citizen, will collect US $360,400.

After an opening round of par 70, Ames carded a 69 in the second round and 68 in the third before yesterday’s final round best. Winner of the tournament was American golfer Steve Flesh (66-69-67-67) for a total of 269, with countryman Chad Campbell runner-up on 270 (70-71-61-68).
