Praise for dedicated officers

THE EDITOR: I am writing in response to an article published on May 20 2004 by “R Brown” of Brazil Village. While I agree with the writer in terms of making requests to have much more police officers/vehicles to patrol on a more regular basis to curb the much-too-high crime rate in our tiny twin republic, I would like to grasp this opportunity to commend the officers currently on patrol for their diligence in their duties.

Some officers do not “sleep all night” but respond (rapidly at that) to distress calls, the undersigned (and family) being a recipient of such service of being “protected and served.” If it weren’t for two officers who were on patrol on the night of March 30, 2004 only God knows what could have happened. I am not the only one who can attest to such service.

There are, I am certain, others like myself who can commend police officers for their dedication and commitment in assisting the general public in their times of distress and who ought to take the opportunity to write to the Editor to express their sentiments. These officers are, in my opinion, deserving of an awards of some sort from the TTPS, so please Police Commissioner, do something to reward your officers.
