Baynes leads Tobago golf

DEFENDING champion Carlos “Sexy” Baynes carded two eagles in a one-under-par 71 to hold a three-shot lead going into today’s final day of the Guardian General Tobago Open Golf Championship at the Plantations Golf Resort, Lowlands, Tobago. Trailing Baynes is junior golfer Simon Merry who had a 74 yesterday, in the rain-shortened tournament. Ben Martin is third on 75.

Among the women, Michelle Torry and Tracey Clarke are joint leaders with 79 followed by Martine de Gannes on 85. Ex-national footballer Ray Roberts and Arjoon Samlal are tied on 74 in the seniors gross, but Samlal hold a one-stroke lead over Roberts - 71 to 72 in the net.
