Young athletes on show in Sagicor track & field

A NUMBER of Trinidad and Tobago’s top youth athletes will be on show at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo this weekend at the Sagicor National Junior Track and Field Championships. The girls Under-20 100 and 200 metres will see the clash of arch-rivals Wanda Hutson and CARIFTA Games bronze medallist Kelli-Ann Baptiste while the ever-improving Marcus Duncan is expected to run away with the Boys Under-20 100-200m sprint double. CARIFTA gold medallists Simeon Bovell and Pilar McShine are the hot favourites in the long distance events (800m, 1,500m and 3,000m) while Rhonda Watkins should have little trouble in the Under-20 long and high jumps. Action begins at 10 am today and tomorrow.
