Thief arrested inside stadium
A thief was caught virtually red-handed yesterday when officers of the St James Criminal Investigations Department responded to a call yesterday morning about a break-in at the Hasley Crawford Stadium, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain. According to information around 4.15 am officers responded to the report and found a 29-year-old man of no fixed address in the main administration office with a number of items, including stop watches, sneakers and batteries valued at $3,000 in his hand.
He was promptly arrested and taken to the St James police station where he was charged for break-in and larceny. The arrested man will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate tomorrow. PC Beckles of the St James CID laid the charges.
