Stokelyvale win Super League opener
PROLIFIC Tobago goalscorer Curtis Job led Biwater Stokelyvale to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Moruga, to open their account in this year’s National Super League football series. Devon Leacock and Michael Carrington added the other goals for the Tobagonians in Saturday’s game, while Terrence Gene got the Moruga consolation.
Harvard shut out Carib FC 4-0 also on Saturday, with Kendell Baptiste getting a double in the 13th and 25th minutes, and Christon Freitas 29th and Kevin Thompson 56th adding their quota. And Brian Bain’s goal in the 14th minute held up for WASA Clean & White to edge Caroni 1-0. After two days of action in the league, six teams share the lead with three points each — Stokelyvale, L-Sporto Crab Connection, Joe Public, Police, Harvard and WASA, while Medianet East San Juan United and Superstar Rangers have one point each.
